Confession: Sometimes I get grossed out about vintage things.

I’ve never bought a vintage nightgown because I always think “Ew, someone slept in that.”

But let me just say.. Two years ago I wouldn’t eat off vintage plates or drink out of vintage cups. “Ew, someone ate off/drank out of that.” That’s now all I own.

A year ago I wouldn’t use vintage sheets for anything. “Ew, someone slept on those.” I now have a stack as tall as I am in my craft room.

I guess things change. 21-year old Amanda would think 23-year old Amanda is super gross. It’s fine. I utilize my washing machine.

But I will never…repeat…NEVER…buy underwear from goodwill. That’s crossing boundaries I don’t even want to think about. *shudders*

yellow nightgown. –> thrifted.
blue belt. –> thrifted.
silver flats. –> walmart.

I think this outfit was like $7 total. haha.

I’m cheap.

*thumbs up*

P.S. My floor is filthy. Don’t judge me.

I finally got around to taking photos of all my tattoos and writing up the story behind each one, but since there are so stinkin many I decided to just do 3 tattoos per post.

I want to preface this by saying that I don’t regret any of my tattoos. I remember the specific times in my life when I got each of them, regardless of whether or not they hold any special meaning. I know full well that tattoos aren’t for everyone, but I love mine dearly. Even the ones where I have to shrug and go “Well, I was 17..” haha.

So here goes.. Here are my first 3 tattoos, in order that I got them.

Dream/Faith ambigram.
Sept. 2005
Duncan, OK
No clue who the artist was.

I got my first tattoo when I was 17, before tattooing was actually legal in Oklahoma. There was a little setup in the back of a local shop. There’s no real story behind this tattoo. I had been reading Angels and Demons and thought the concept of an ambigram was cool. And I wanted a tattoo. That’s pretty much it. haha.

“Dad” in Hebrew.
Feb. 2006
Duncan, OK
Again.. No clue about the artist.

It had been a little over a year since my dad’s accident and I decided I wanted a memorial tattoo. I didn’t want a huge piece and I wanted it somewhere I’d see it often. I always wrote things on my hand to remember them, so it just made sense to put it on my hand. I chose Hebrew because it’s small and I didn’t just want “Dad” on my hand. (And yes, I got the translation checked!) Typically when strangers ask what it means I say “Father”…I have a fear of that awkwardness or mood killer that comes over a room when you say you lost a parent. “Father” could easily be a spiritual meaning.
Realistically the guy that did the tattoo did a crappy job. And this was after tattoos were legalized in OK, fyi. ;)

Peace sign.

Sept. 2007
Duncan, OK
No. Idea.

No cool story for this one. I took my mom to get her first tattoo and I told her I’d get one if she did. I was going through a bit of a hippie stage and knew it’d barely get seen in this spot. I typically forget it’s even there.

I’ll share all of them over the next couple of weeks. Figured I’d spread em out a little. :)

I’ll have an outfit post tomorrow, then an engagement shoot by the end of the week. Oh, and I’m working on some fun new re-branding…I can’t wait to share! It’ll be a totally different direction than what I have now. Excited!

Back to work I go!

I had intended on getting a lot of crafty stuff done during my time off… Hasn’t happened. I’m not even really 100% sure where the heck this month has gone. I just need it to sloooww doooowwwwn. It kinda makes me grumpy realizing that I didn’t accomplish all I wanted to this month and now suddenly I have a work-related to do list. Meh.

Whine whine whine, complain complain, whine. Complain.

I blame the fact that I’m sweaty and tired and a fly is buzzing around my head. Sorry. ;)

Since I have nothing to offer.. Here’s an outfit post. haha. This has become one of my favorite skirts with the weather being so insanely hot. (Thanks Gretchen!) It’s really lightweight and I think I’ve worn it like seven times in the last month.

I’m not saying I’m ready for winter, because I would still take heat over cold…but I’m REALLY tired of 100+ degree heat EVERY SINGLE DAY. If it would just drop down to 70 and stay there, oh heavens, I would die of happiness. I miss nice weather. And rain. Droughts are stupid.

skirt. –> passed down from gretchen. she’s a peach.
striped tank. –> target.
green flats. –> uo.
rings. (even though they’re out of focus) –> all gifted or etsy except the bunny one…which proceeded to break 20 minutes after the photo was taken.
lip stain. –> revlon just bitten in “flame”.

And thus ends the whiniest, most half-assed post ever. *bows*

*exits*

I actually took these photos sometime in June, but they were an anniversary present for their momma so I had to stay hush hush about them. We just spent a few minutes at the park and got a few candid shots. I’m excited to get to share them now!

My mom nannies for Asher and Boston (the twins) and also nannied for Aiden when he was a bebe. I love these little stinkers. My favorite thing to do lately is to pay them visits when mom is watching them…they just learned to crawl recently, so things just got fun. :)
