Oh heavens. I have been the ultimate slacker. I knew this month would be hectic, but I genuinely thought I could stay caught up. I am currently so incredibly behind it’s a little unreal. And I have only a few days to get everything done before my next wedding. I need a clone!

I had such an amazing week in Colorado with my Ethiopia family last week. I’ll get all my photos gathered and blog about the trip soon! First, I wanted to share the adorable family I had the pleasure of working with a few weeks ago. The live on a cute little farmhouse outside of town…it was adorable! And the girlies were so sweet. Trinity wouldn’t let me leave until we played in her room and she told me the names of all her stuffed animals. :)

Lacy is also a photographer, and I’ll be working on the other side of the camera on Tuesday. Excited!

Also, I wanted to announce that I’ll be taking the entire month of August off. (I’m used to having at least a month off in the summer…I’m a little drained.) If you’ve already booked an appointment with me, no worries! Just not booking any more for the month. :)

Back to work I go.. I’ll be back with vacation photos, then an engagement shoot. :) Loooots of wedding photos to come after that! (Christian & Brandon, and Abby & Matt…soon, I promise! Don’t hate me!)

peace.

If you’ve been waiting on an email or photos from me, please bear with me!! It’s been a busy few weeks and only getting busier. As I type this I have somewhere around 2300 photos in Lightroom just waiting to even be viewed, much less edited. My schedule has been slightly on the crazy side.

I will have things to share within the next couple of weeks…promise!

I know it’s technically not Friday right now. But I got close! I was in OKC most of the day working on props for an upcoming shoot. And I took my 35L in to be sent to Canon for calibration. Sad face. :( Hopefully it’ll come back good as new!

I came home, ate dinner, and ended up laying down and falling asleep. Then spent two hours cleaning. Yeesh.

Here are some favorites from this week..

1) I tweeted this link last week but felt that it deserved a spot on here. I’ve always felt that introverts are hard to understand (not only by others, but also by our own selves) and this shines so much light on how our brains function. I thought it was really interesting.

2) elycia’s wedding!

I just think elycia is the cutest thing ever, and her wedding was perfect. I died a little over her hair!

3) “Up Up Up” by Givers.

This song is awesome. And I want to be friends with them.

4) This.

Go ahead.. Raise your hand if you were also fooled.
The weird thing is, I never even questioned it. Arnold just wore a skirt, no big deal.

5) This photo is a bit of inspiration for an upcoming shoot that I’m crazy excited about. Same shoot that we built a prop for today! Though the prop has nothing to do with this particular photo. ha. (If you follow me on twitter, it’s not really a surprise. haha.)

Photo found here.

So, I’m a little overwhelmed with life at the moment. I’m now behind on a wedding (I know Christian and Brandon’s families are stalking the blog right now…soon guys! ;) ) and two shoots, and I’m shooting a wedding tomorrow, then Sunday is for laundry and packing for 11 days. A shoot Sunday evening, then driving to OKC and staying there until Thursday for a shoot and finishing up my tattoo. At some point I need to get caught up on editing.

On the bright side, Thursday morning I’m off to Colorado to spend a week with my favorite group of people! I am excited beyond words!

peace.

This song…and the lyrics…just… Yes.

I’ll just leave this here for you.

*walks away*

Have a seat upon this branch of mine
It’s been a while honey I think I feel fine
I see the question mark a top your spine
I’ve got a ladder honey won’t you let me climb

Tell me all about your foreign wars
And all about the photographs that line your drawers
Cause I know a lot about closing doors
But not enough about what opens up yours

Oh my my
Oh my stars
Everything you see is ours
Or it could be if you would try
I wish you would
I wish you might

If everything you’ve said to me has been true
Then all my stars are leading me to you

Have a seat upon this branch of mine
It’s been a while honey won’t you take your time
And I see the question mark a top your spine
I’ve got a ladder honey wont you let me climb

Oh my my
Oh my stars
Everything you see is ours
Or it could be if you would try
I wish you would
I wish you might

If everything you’ve said to me has been true
Then all my stars are leading me to you

Oh my my
Oh my stars
