This girl was SUCH a beauty and had such an awesome personality! She was truly a pleasure to work with and I had a ton of fun on our shoot.

(I also did her older brother’s senior pictures a little over a year ago!)

I ended up having the last two days off, due to scheduling conflicts and the CRAZY winds we’ve been having. I’ve come to the conclusion that there is no perfect season to do photos…it’s windy in spring, hot in summer, rainy in fall, and cold in winter. Oh, what I would do to be able to control the weather.

Regardless, it was nice to have a little downtime considering I now have a shoot or workshop booked every day until April 6th.

Oh! And I realized the other day what a complete dummy I am…I get requests for art prints all the time and literally just realized I could set it up where people could order them off here.
I’m dumb.
If you’re interested in an art print, just click “insiders” on the menu bar above and use this password: ijp-art-prints
If you have a particular print or size in mind that isn’t listed, just shoot me an email!

Another senior shoot tonight…will share soon. :)

Can I just take a moment to express how truly excited I am that Spring is here?

*this is where I’d do my happy dance*

Things are blooming! The grass is turning green! I can wear dresses without tights! I can open my windows! I can lock my dogs in the backyard all day and not feel guilty about it!

…what? They’ve spent the entire winter destroying almost all the furniture in my house. As well as my walls.

*sigh* I need the Dog Whisperer, I swear.

I digress. Other than some crazy wind (seriously, what is the deal lately?) we had perfect weather for Whitney’s shoot last Saturday. The Redbud trees have started blooming…so pretty!!

Loved getting to hang out with you guys, Whitney. :) Your proofs are going up right meow!

On a random note…

I’m borderline obsessed with painting my nails lately. I’m still working on growing them out, and they’re officially longer than they’ve ever been. Still not long by any means, but I had dirt under my nails for the first time ever the other day…no joke!

There are so many pretty nail polishes out there. My nails have been a different color every day for the last week…woops. Today they were emerald green and I just painted them navy and lime green, one of my favorite color combos. :)

I have senior shoots literally this entire week. Insane.

Loved hanging out with Eugenia and Andy Friday evening! They were such a laid back couple and it was nice to do an engagement shoot in the midst of all these seniors I’ve been having. :)

So…random: I woke up the other morning to the sound of bulldozers, looked out my front window and saw this..

I’ve always loved that my house doesn’t face the road. I have a tendency to prefer to leave my windows open, and I’ve been known to retrieve packages off my front porch in my underwear. And I like being able to take self-portraits outside without getting weird looks from people.

I don’t know what the heck they’re doing down there…but I’m not a fan. Not at all. Particularly not a fan of the fact that they begin working around 8am. I’m reeeaaaallly hoping they’re not building anything.

I’m such a hermit.

I’ll be sharing some favorites from a senior girl shoot within the next day or so. Stay tuned!

peace.

1) New camera bag!

I’ve had my eye on this JoTotes bag since November and decided I HAD to have it in December…turns out they were sold out, and have been up until last week. As soon as they went back up for sale I snagged it! It’s sooo cute!

2) This video.

It’s almost 12 minutes long, but I highly suggest watching it through. He makes some awesome points about the world’s view of what “education” is, and I wholeheartedly agree with everything he says. I have very weird opinions on college and whether or not it’s a “necessity” in all fields, and I feel like this guy pretty much explains how I feel.
Plus, the animation is pretty cool. And there’s a tiny little stab at Oklahoma. haha.

3) Dog entertainment.
Miss Eden picked up a weird little habit a few months ago. She started jumping up and taking small sticks off the tree, and the more sticks she takes, the higher she has to jump. It’s getting insane. That limb she’s going for is about 6 feet in the air.

It’s pretty hilarious to watch.
And ignore the big white circle. Jane was in the background…uh…using the bathroom. Didn’t figure you guys cared to see that. haha.
Also…pretend my backyard is lush and pretty and not a scene from The Sandlot.

4) Sydney’s cool perspective on God and creativity.

“I think part of the beauty of God is that He allows us to be creative. This is kind of ironic, since He IS the Creator, & made everything, so ultimately we can’t really create anything… He’s already made it all.”

It makes the ability to create as a living feel like the biggest blessing ever.

5) I need this chair soooo bad!!

Ms. Waters pinned it on Pinterest and I had a minor freakout when I saw it. Then I saw her caption and had to LOL: “faaaaaantastic. Also, I feel like Amanda Keith would die if she saw this.”

Apparently I’m predictable. ;)

Last…this week’s 52 weeks submission.

Channeling my inner Alice.

Hope everyone has a splendid weekend. :)

peace.
