This was one of those shoots where it was more entertaining to sit and listen than it was to take pictures. Freaking AWESOME family! I spent more time laughing at the boys than doing anything.
We ALMOST didn’t get to have this shoot. We had an impressive storm dumped on us (hello, golf ball sized hail) literally like an hour before the shoot. Luckily it all cleared out and they made it to Duncan from Lawton in time for us to get to have a full shoot!
We kinda mixed together a family shoot and senior shoot. Here are some faves…

My favorite…out-takes.
I believe this was their Tupac look…but I’m thinking more along the lines of Backstreet Boys. A for effort though, guys.

So…I completely was not expecting that many people to enter for the giveaway. If I could get that amount of comments on every blog, that’d be great…buncha creepers.. ;) haha!
Anyway, lucky number was FOUR! So, Angela Compton, email me yo address. :) indiejanephotography@gmail.com
I’m going to try to do more giveaways here and on twitter. Maybe once a week. Stay tuned!
Now I’m getting back to work. Unfortunately my shoot tonight was cancelled, as well as tomorrow’s shoot. Not a fan of rescheduling (we all know this), but it’ll be nice to have two days to catch up a bit. I’m slowly but surely losing my sanity. :)

peace.

Ooooh these boys! I can’t even tell you how many times I laughed hysterically throughout this shoot because of something they said or did. At one point Mr. Dawson was apparently fed up with the whole process and told me they were just going to go to Sears and get their pictures done. I laughed so hard!
Proof that there was never a dull moment. ;)

For those interested, I’m STILL trying to get my 40D sold.
Here are the details again..
Canon 40D, gently used/in great shape (bought in May 2008)
Battery grip
4 batteries
Battery charger
Strap
USB cable
…with box and paperwork.
I’m now selling it for $650. I won’t go any lower, so if you want it…now is your chance.
And just a heads up, I am currently not taking any more bookings for May. I will take 3 more in June, then I’m done until September. (July is my month off and I’ll be in Ethiopia in August.) So if you need a shoot before September, email me ASAP! First come, first served.
I’d love to be able to take on everyone that needs photos, but this girl is worn down. :/ Things haven’t slowed down like I thought they would…totally a blessing, but an exhausting blessing. :) I’m thankful for the growth in my business this year, but if I don’t chill out a bit and take some breathers, homegirl is gonna get burnt out. And I don’t want that, because I have no plan B. Lol.
Also, how about a giveaway? :)
An 11×14 painting I’ve had sitting around. It needs a home.

Leave me a comment and tell me your favorite forest creature. I sent Lane and Heather the “lucky number” and whichever commenter is on that post wins this little deary. Must leave your first name and email also so I can get a hold of you if you win. (Free shipping if necessary.)
Senior/family shoot next! I’m off to edit..
peace.

Sorry for the lack of blogging last week! I finally had a week off to COMPLETELY clean my house. I mean every surface got dusted and polished…every sheet, blanket, cushion cover, curtain, towel, and item of clothing went through the washer and dryer…I even washed down the baseboards and cleaned out the fridge.
I ended up getting rid of 4 huge boxes of junk and a huge trash bag of clothes. (I may be having a garage sale soon to raise money for Ethiopia, I’ll keep everyone updated!)
Needless to say, it feels great to have a clean home for the first time in a loooong time. :) I took some photos to commemorate this event. Lol.
Also, spent some quality time with the Smiley brothers this evening.
Probably couldn’t get any more awesome if we tried. Just sayin.
OH! And as a reward to myself for staying (fairly) caught up last month and actually getting my house cleaned (because I rarely complete things when I start them)…I now own one of these babies. :)
Now I must go stalk the UPS man.
Hope all the mommas had an awesome Mother’s Day. My mom asked for a grill. Lol.
I’ll be back with a super cute family shoot soon!
peace.

P.S. Momma Carol sent me bread and butter pickles (and jelly and cookies!) with her boys today. Happyyy!

Cleaning my office tonight, I came across my journal from last year’s Ethiopia trip.
I hate that I’ve been so busy lately that my trip coming up this summer got put on the back burner. I haven’t had time to do anything for fundraising (the 50% that I have paid has been out of my own pocket), I’ve had to miss every team conference call because of shoots, and I just generally feel unprepared. It kind of hurts my heart to think that the one thing that means the most to me has been pushed to the back of my mind. I’m glad things are slowing down so I can focus on doing what I’m being called to do.
I miss E-country so bad it hurts some days. It seems like not a day goes by that little random things remind me of it, and it’s hard not to burst into tears. I really do feel like I’ve left a large part of myself over there.
“There are things God does for you and things that God waits for you to do. The journey begins when you choose. Stop wasting daylight. Choose a life of meaningful adventure. When you do, you will live at the epicenter of God’s activity.”
Less than 3 months and I’ll be home. <3

P.S. I’ve been asked a few times where donations can be made and I just found out recently that you can make them online. Click here, and then click on the Ethiopia one-month trip and fill in the info.
I’ll love you times a million, and every penny counts. <3
