Despite the slight chilliness last Saturday, I had an awesome shoot with two really great kids! Carlee is 16 and Ty is 10. We rushed through the shoot so they didn’t have to freeze but they were both so awesome that I ended up with more than enough to work with! Love it.

Headed to Nashville this weekend!! I’ve never been before and I’m so excited! I’ll be spending the whole weekend with some of the awesome people I went to Ethiopia with last summer. I haven’t seen any of them since we got back into the states, so I miss them all dearly. It should be an amazing weekend!

Sidenote: If you’re in the Duncan area on Saturday night (Feb. 28), the Away With Words boys will be playing an AWESOME show in Marlow with Harp and Lyre, Dance, Mrs. Clark, and By Letter and Affection! It’s at FBC Marlow, doors open at 6:30pm, only $5! :)

I had my last Miss V-A contestant shoot last night!

Kaylee was one of those people who thinks they’re terrible in front of the camera, but realistically no matter what she did it ended up being adorable. *shakes fist* You people!

But in all seriousness, I had a blast with her! Such a fun girl, and pretty to boot.

Here’s your sneak peek, Kaylee! Only it’s not really a sneak peek because your proofs are already up and you’ve probably already seen them…so this is just more or less for everyone else.. lol

Umm, hello supermodel. Stunning.

Yea…I’m starting to wonder what they put in the water in Velma…and perhaps I should get some…

:)

Away With Words show tomorrow in Cleburne, Texas! Soooo pumped!!

Another Miss V-A contestant! :)
Harley didn’t take a single bad picture. Seriously.

Makes. Me. Sick. :)

And for the love of all that is holy, are her eyes not awesome?! There’s no editing on her eyes done on any of these…crazy.

More pretty pageant girls in the next few days, then another Away With Words show this Friday, then a shoot with a 16-year old and 10-year old (my favorite ages to shoot!) on Saturday.

I lurve my job.

I suck at blogging. We’ve already established this. That being said…this will be long, but worth it!

1. Pageant season is upon us!
…and I freakin love it! :) Tanna is running for Miss Velma-Alma so we ran around town for a couple of hours and got some shots for her.
Here’s your sneak peek Tanna! Your proofs will be up in the next couple of days!

(Isn’t she adorable?)

2. As if I needed one more reason to love concerts.
Let’s be honest…I’ll go see anybody play live. I’ve seen over 90 bands/musicians in the last two and a half years. I’ve always wanted to shoot concerts but it’s so dang hard! The lighting is terrible, there’s lots of movement, and you can’t exactly set up a shot so you just shoot a ton and hope you got something good.
I went to My Metal Valentine in OKC with the Away With Words boys Friday night and completely fell in love with shooting live shows. These probably aren’t anything to toot any horns about, but I had a blast. :)

3. The excitement of going back to Ethiopia, and the worry that deadlines bring.
I’m not going to go into a novel about how much I miss E-country, because you all know. The deadline for 66% of our trip cost (about $3000) is in exactly one month, and I am downright freaking out. I still have another $1700 to raise just to meet that deadline, and then another $1500 after that. I keep telling myself that things will work out and God will provide but I suppose I’m only human and it’s always going to be in the back of my mind.
Aside from all my whining… :) …I’m realizing how supportive the people I have in my life are. Several friends and family members have bought stuff from my Etsy shop (the link to it is on the side over there —-> ), Matt Roberson has been an awesome friend with his donation and prayers, my mom made a donation that helped a ton, and the AWW boys passed around a bucket at their show the other night and got me some donations (I freakin love those boys, in case that wasn’t obvious).
Amidst all the worry, there’s a constant reminder of how blessed I am.
And because of my blessings, I am reminded of how good our God is.
And if our God is good, He will provide.

Funny little cycle, right? :)

peace.
