Top 5 Favorite Photos of 2008!
*drumroll..*

Lane
I always get compliments on this photo, but it’s even better when you actually know Lane. It’s so very him (and it was completely his idea). That was also one of my favorite shoots I’ve ever had…there was a lot of laughing (mostly on Lane’s behalf) and it was one of those shoots where I kept thinking how much fun my job is on the drive home!

Whitney
I truly believe that there are some people that just naturally inspire others, and I think Whitney is one of those people. There were so many ideas bounced around before and during this shoot! Whitney wanted some photos with books…we started out talking about getting some shots in the library, but I wanted to do something completely different. I love random things in fields, so that’s more or less where this idea was born. :) Plus, I am in love with her hair!

Matt Roberson Band
Confession time: My biggest dream is to primarily shoot bands…promos, album covers, concerts…anything! I love music…I love photography. It just make sense, right? This was my first ever band shoot and I couldn’t have asked for a better group of guys to experience it with. We had a blast and I certainly learned a lot…like sometimes you have to yell and possibly make violent threats when trying to get 5 males’ attention. And possibly make the road manager go home. (Kidding! Kind of.. haha)

Galveston
My family doesn’t vacation much, but we decided to visit Galveston, TX last June. We were driving to go eat one night and we passed this burned sign that was shaped like a cross…I didn’t have my camera with me, so I went out the next day and spent an hour in the 100+ degree heat taking pictures!

Ethiopia
This is hands down my favorite photo I have ever taken. (Need proof? I will soon have a 40×60 canvas of it hung above my fireplace!) It was taken on a mountainside in Ambo, Ethiopia. We had just been rained on and welcomed into a home of one of the locals. It was truly an unforgettable day and I’m reminded of it every time I look at this photo.
I’ll be updating soon with some new changes for IJP this coming year…it’s mostly boring stuff, but you gotta know it anyway. :) I’ve finally started the actual moving process into my new house, so hopefully I can finish up unpacking sometime this week and give you guys an update! :) Love love love!
peace.

lyrics – “knew it all” by needtobreathe.
Hello friends. :)
Just wanted to pop in and let everyone know I’m taking a week off from the internet to get caught up on other things and start moving into my house (!!!) so all emails will be returned next Sunday. If you need to get a hold of me sooner, my cell number is 580-656-1187…feel free to call or text me, and leave me a message if I don’t answer!
Just a quick catch up for those wanting to know how the house is going.. They finished painting today!! It looks sooo awesome! My office is green and I absolutely LOVE it. I can’t wait to take some photos to show you guys. You’ll love it. :)
The flooring is being laid this week. Hopefully it will only take them a few days. We had a bit of a bad situation with the flooring. Long story short, I bought a TON of it for my house in Tulsa in May 2007 but didn’t use it all. I bought it from Lumber Liquidators and it was discontinued, so I bought all they had just to be safe. I was planning on using what I had left over for my new house, only to find out we weren’t going to have enough (they had already finished two rooms!). Somehow, by the grace of God, I found some today that matched pretty much perfectly! It was a fairly stressful situation, but in the end it ended up being a reminder that I need to chill out sometimes and just stop worrying about petty things like flooring. ha.
So anyway…I’ll start moving in either this week or next week! I honestly can’t tell you how excited I am. I could squeal. And it takes a lot of excitement for me to squeal.
Now to put together ALL that furniture I bought at IKEA.. *sigh*
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Guess what I spent my Saturday night doing?

:D
See you next Sunday!
peace.

P.S. I sent in my application for a month in Ethiopia this summer yesterday! I absolutely cannot wait. I’m a little scared of the cost…roughly $4100. Does ANYONE have any good fundraiser ideas? I’ll probably have to do more than one fundraiser, so feel free to throw as many ideas out as you can!
